Review/Consent management platform (CMP)/No. 6 of 10
CookieYes review
British consent platform with a free cookie checker, built-in policy generators and published prices by page views.
In this article
CookieYes Limited, registered in Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom, began in 2018 as a WordPress plugin. It provides a consent banner whose cookie scanner matches findings against a database of more than 100,000 categorised cookies and trackers. Third-party scripts can be held back until consent, and consent records can be exported as CSV or PDF. Every plan includes privacy and cookie policy generators. On the free plan a site gets 5,000 page views a month and scans of up to 100 pages; Basic is €9 ($10) per domain per month or €90 a year, with taxes added at checkout.
01In detail
What began in 2018 as a WordPress plugin is now a hosted consent management platform run by CookieYes Limited, registered in England and Wales, with a remote team in the UK and India. Its target is small sites that need a working banner fast.
The scanner crawls the site and compares what it finds with a database of more than 100,000 categorised cookies and trackers. Scripts such as Google Analytics or the Facebook Pixel can be blocked until the visitor agrees. Consent is logged with an anonymised IP address, country, status and timestamp and can be exported as CSV or as a proof-of-consent PDF, with export for five years on paid plans. Every plan includes privacy and cookie policy generators. The banner supports more than 175 languages, 41 with automatic translation. CookieYes is an IAB-registered CMP for TCF v2.4 and a Google Gold CMP partner, and it states SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 controls.
On the website, a free cookie checker crawls a URL and lists HTTP, JavaScript and HTML5 local-storage cookies by category. Privacy-policy content, the imprint, e-shop duties and accessibility are not checked.
Prices are per domain in USD, EUR or GBP, and local taxes are added at checkout. Free gives 5,000 page views a month, 100 pages per scan, five scans a month, one banner language and CookieYes branding. Basic costs $10 / €9 / £8 a month or $100 / €90 / £80 a year, for 100,000 page views and 600 pages per scan, without scheduled scans. Pro, at $25 / €23 a month, adds monthly scheduled scans, geo-targeting and IAB TCF; Ultimate, at $55 / €50 a month, scans weekly and removes the branding. On Basic and Pro each extra 1,000 page views costs $0.30. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial, after which the card is charged unless the plan is cancelled.
For a small site, CookieYes is a simple, inexpensive route to a working consent banner and cookie policy, and its prices are published clearly.
